LADS presentsThe 25p Man
The 25p Man
This is an original musical play written and directed by LADS member Catherine Crosswell. It is set possibly in the 1980s. What appears to be a fairly normal family discover they have won a prize from a rather bizarre caller (the eponymous ‘25p Man’). Maintaining normality becomes trickier as other members of this surreal family appear on stage to congratulate themselves on their winnings. Why won’t Chuffy lie down? What is the real meaning of ‘DFS’? Who is the 25p Man? Come along on Friday 13th July for answers to these and other questions. Shiny!!
The 25p Man was one of LADS’ entries in this year’s Herefordshire County Drama Festival, held in Ledbury in March. It won the competition, and also received trophies for Best Original Script, Best Producer (Catherine Crosswell) and Best Actress (Georgia Gill). At the Quarter-Finals of the All-England Theatre Festival in April the play was placed second, thus advancing to the Semi-Finals in Worcester the following month. Although it progressed no further, the play was much praised by the adjudicator at the Worcester event.
This performance is being staged for the benefit of LADS members who may not yet have seen it, and to give the wider public a taste of what LADS can offer.
As a result ADMISSION is FREE, but you will need to book your tickets in the usual way.
