On That Note
On That Note is a north London a cappella choir that performs highbrow, lowbrow and eyebrow-raisingly good versions of classical, jazz and popular tunes at festivals and fiestas around the London area. Guided by the young award-winning film composer and arranger Gabriel Chernick, their diverse repertoire spans the music of seven centuries and is complemented by their own original arrangements.
Some of the twelve singers are from formal musical backgrounds, having studied at institutions such as Guildhall School of Music and Drama, Sydney Conservatorium of Music, University of Cambridge and the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. And all are united in their deep love of communal singing, gaining them a loyal audience who regularly comment that ‘They just look like they’re having so much fun!’. This year they’ve performed their second hugely successful concert for the musically discerning Redbridge Music Society, and more recently had the privilege of performing as part of the Brandenburg Choral Festival of London in Covent Garden.
