In 1980s London, film student Julie (Honor Swinton Byrne) embarks on her first serious love affair. She is trying to develop a documentary project set in Sunderland, a community at odds with her own moneyed background. Slipping deeper into her turbulent relationship, she finds it increasingly hard to discern fact from fiction.
A really gorgeous film - nostalgic, melancholy, specific and intimate, and shot in a way that feels like director Joanna Hogg is taking you into her confidence.
Winner of the Grand Jury Prize at Sundance.
