Open Auditions for
NEVILLE’S ISLAND

by Tim Firth

Auditions will take place in the theatre on Thursday 4th June at 7pm

Performance dates will be 17th to 19th October 2024.

Synopsis: Four out-of-condition middle-aged businessmen are sent off on a team-building exercise in the Lake District and succeed in becoming the first people ever to get shipwrecked on an island on Derwentwater.  Cut off from the world by fog and menaced by wildlife, this middle-management exercise turns into a carnival of recrimination, French cricket and sausages.

What should have been a constructive bonding process for Gordon, Angus, Roy and Neville turns into a muddy, bloody fight for survival.  Because, when night sets in, strange things happen out in the wilds, and what takes place on Neville’s Island that foggy November weekend, none of this particular middle-management team will ever forget...

Characters (all middle-managers working for the same company):

Neville:a Marketing Manager, age 40-60.
A ‘nice man’ trying to do his best..
Gordon:  a Production Manager working with operations to create products
and look at product evolution and creation.  Gordon is single: age 40-60.
Angus:a Distribution Manager - logistics and packing.
Angus is married: age 30-50.
Roy:Finance Manager, age 30-50.
A slightly awkward man.

NB – there is a contingency if we can’t find four men for this play: Tim Firth has also written the all-female version – Sheila’s Island.
