Into the Fire is a bold and dramatic two-act play set in the final days of Pompeii – written and directed by LADS member Jessica Monk.

It follows the story of Camelia – a spirited young woman who is confronted with a choice between family duty and freedom. She faces an arranged marriage to a cruel, powerful family but then she meets Eros, an escaped gladiatorial slave with a dangerous past. The two make a connection which challenges everything she was taught. As tensions rise, family ties are tested under the shadow of Vesuvius.

The play explores the relationships between parents and daughter, and what it means to choose your own fate in the face of disaster. With rich characters, exciting storytelling and moments of humour – this is a new, exciting piece of theatre.
