Whattalife!
Kathleen Ferrier was one of Britain’s phenomenal women of the 20th Century and WhattaLife! tells her story from her début as a singer in 1940, on to her meteoric rise as a great English contralto and her tragic death in 1953. Just like Kathleen during her short but full life, the show has a great sense of fun and talks straight from the heart.
Professional actress and contralto, Lucy Stevens has researched and created a unique and totally engaging performance. Evoking the spirit of the war and post war years, with the text taken straight from Kathleen’s letters and diaries, and sung music from her repertoire woven through the show, she is accompanied by pianist Elizabeth Marcus.

I want to say what a fantastic performance. I have seen very few such moving, funny and well-acted performances, let alone with such fabulous singing, a real treat - Audience member
